Dussehra : The festival of Dussehra is celebrated
to mark the victory of Lord of Rama over Ravana.
It is also the day when fairs are held and the
effigies of Ravana, his brother Kumbhkaran are
burnt. Ramlila is being played on the stage which
shows the whole story of Ramayana.

Diwali : Diwali is a festival of great joy and
happiness. On this day, Ram had returned to
Ayodhya after killing Ravan. At night people
decorate their homes with candles or diyas. So,
Diwali is also called the Festivals of Lights.
Goddess Lakshmi is worshipped on this day.

Gurupurab : Gurpurab is celebrated to mark the
birthday of the great saint Guru Nanak.
Gurpurab is celebrated all over the country with
joy. People go to pray in the Gurudwaras on this
day. Food is cooked in a common kitchen called
langar. Everyone sits and eats together. Gurupurab
Christmas : Christmas is celebrated to mark the
birthday of Jesus Christ. It is celebrated on the 25th
of December. Every year people pray in the
churches on that day and give gifts to each other.
Christmas trees are decorated with lights and gifts.

Eid : It brings great joy and festivities. It is
celebrated after the holy month of Ramzan.
People wear new clothes and go to mosques to
offer Namaz. After prayers, they greet and
embrace each other and say “Eid Mubarak”. A
special sweet dish called Sewain is made. Friends
and family exchange gifts. Eid
