Our Senses

The eyes, ears, nose, skin and tongue are our five sense organs. You could guess

what the things in the bag were with the help of your sense organs.

Eyes : We have two eyes. Close your eyes and feel
your eyelids. You have eyelashes on the edge of

the eyelids. The eyelids and eyelashes protect the

eyes.

We see far and near, big and small things with

our eyes. We also see colours and light. We see
people and animals. We see the sky, the sun, the

moon and stars.

Ears : We have two ears. We hear sounds with our
ears. We can hear loud and soft, high and low

sounds. We can hear the whistle of a train and the

chirping of a bird.

Nose : we have one nose. It helps us to smell. We

can smell the sweet scent of a flower as well as the

bad smell from a garbage dump.

Do you Know?

Some animals, like cats, can see very well in the dark. So, they can hunt in the dark.
Dogs have very sharp hearing. They can hear very soft sounds that we cannot hear.
