The antivirus software performs the following tasks:

            1. Examines files and programs as they are being opened, accessed, copied or downloaded.
            2. Scans the incoming emails with attachments.
            3. Scans the files and applications stored in the computer in order to detect viruses.

            4. Removes viruses from the computer.

            Features of Antivirus
Antivirus has become one of the most essential parts of computing. It is very important to choose
effective antivirus software. Different types of antivirus software offer different levels of
protection and features. All antivirus software are not equally capable of protecting a computer
from malware and other cyber threats. Before buying any antivirus software, make sure to look

            for the following features:
            1. Real time scanning: It is the most dynamic feature of a good antivirus software. It
repeatedly checks a computer system for the presence of malicious entities. This feature
restricts the entry of malware in a computer.

            2. Automatic updates: Everyday, new types of malware are emerging that cannot be detected
and prevented by older versions of antivirus. Therefore, antivirus software requires frequent
updates, so that it can track and detect the latest viruses on a computer system to eradicate
them. It is advisable to install antivirus software which can install updates automatically and
                 frequently.

            3. Protection for multiple apps: An antivirus must be capable of scanning the entire system
including the various apps and services installed on a computer system.
            4. Fight against all types of malware: Many antivirus programs are designed to target some
specific type of malware that may fail to detect and remove the other types. It is a good

decision to go with a software that can thoroughly detect almost all types of malware.
            Firewall

When your computer is connected to a network or Internet, it becomes vulnerable to various kinds
of unauthorised access or threats. In such a situation, a firewall plays a vital role. A Firewall is a
security system that protects a computer from an unauthorised access over a network or Internet.
It blocks unauthorised web users or illicit software from gaining access to a private network
            connected to the Internet.

A firewall could be implemented as a hardware or software, or even a combination of both.
Firewall software follows a set of rules that determines what can enter and leave a network. On
the basis of these rules, a firewall monitors and controls the incoming and outgoing network
            traffic.

            Encryption Software

The safety of data is of utmost importance. There are chances that data could lose its privacy
while being transmitted across a computer network or Internet. The encryption method is used to
protect the data from an unauthorised access. Encryption is a step ahead of Firewall in terms of
            data security or safety.
