A light pen is used to point objects or draw on the screen in a way like a
touch screen.
Processing Device
CPU stands for Central Processing Unit. It is responsible for processing the data
given by the user. The CPU is made up of three main parts. They are:
1. Arithmetic and Logic Unit (ALU)
2. Control Unit (CU)
3. Memory Unit (MU)
All the calculations in a computer are performed by the ALU. It
Arithmetic and performs arithmetic calculations like addition, subtraction,
Logic Unit multiplication and division. It also performs logical operations like
finding the greater number (>), smaller number(<), comparing etc.
It works like a manager who checks whether all the computer operations
Control Unit
are taking place in a correct manner or not. It controls and manage the
working of all the parts of a computer.
The CPU stores all the data and instructions that need to be processed in
Memory Unit the memory unit. The memory unit then passes this data and instruction
to the ALU or CU.
There are various components present inside a CPU box. They are as follows:
Motherboard is the main chipset board. It allows all the parts to receive
distribute power and communicate with one another.
Processor or CPU is the brain of the computer. It processes the data and
instructions given by the input devices and then sends the result of
processing to the output devices. It is present on the motherboard.
SMPS stands for Switched Mode Power Supply. It converts the
incoming electricity into proper voltage and supplies it to another parts
present inside the CPU box.
