The Sun
The Sun is a very large hot ball of fire.
The Sun is made up of very hot, glowing
gases. It is so bright that we cannot look
at it. It is very big in size. It looks small
because it is very far away from us. It is
millions of kilometers away from the
Earth. The Sun is the source of heat and
energy in the universe.
The Sun rises in the East every morning.
The Sun sets in the West every evening.
The Sun gives light, heat and energy to all living things. It helps plants to grow.
When the Sun shines, the days are warm and bright. At night when there is no
sunshine, it is dark and cool.
As the Earth rotates from west to east, it seems to us as if the Sun is moving from
east to west.
The Sun is 13,00,000 times bigger than the
Earth. All the stars in the sky are like the Sun.
There are many stars which are much larger
than our Sun.
The Earth revolves
around the Sun
