                                                      Moon and Stars

Look up at the sky during night. The sky is dark black in colour.

At night, we can see the moon and the stars shining.

The moon has no light of its own. There is no air and

water on the moon, so there is no possibility of life on
it. Moon is a satellite of the Earth and it moves around

the Earth. There is no water on the moon. Moon has

only rocks and sand on its surface.

                                                     Phases of Moon

The moon is not bright and hot.

It gets its light from the sun.

Sometimes we cannot see the moon at all.

We call this the No Moon.
                          New Moon
After the No Moon, we see the moon like a bow.

We call this the New Moon.

The New Moon grows bigger and bigger every day.

After a week, it looks like the letter D.

It is called the half moon. Half Moon

The moon is the only heavenly body that shows waxing and waning.
