Christmas
It is the festival of the Christians and is celebrated
on 25th December. On this day, Lord Jesus Christ
was born. Some people dress themselves as Santa
Claus and bring gifts for children.

Eid
Eid is celebrated at the end of the holy month of
Ramzan. The Muslims keep fast during this month.
People greet each other ‘Eid Mubarak’ on Eid. They go
to the mosque and offer the namaz, and holy prayer.
Special dish ‘sewain’ is cooked on this day. Id
Pongal
It is celebrated in Tamil Nadu when rice is harvested. It is celebrated in January.
Gurupurab
This is the main festival of the Sikhs. On this day, the Sikhs
assemble at gurdwara and take langar. They bow before
Guru Granth Sahib which is their religious book.
Onam
Onam is mainly celebrated in Kerala. Like
Pongal, Onam is also a harvest festival. People
worship King Mahabali. Elephants are
decorated and taken out in a procession.
Snake boat race is the most exciting part of
this festival. This festival is celebrated for ten
days.
