                                       Stepping Stones

Our journey with science con nues here, where curiosity remains our guide. In
earlier lessons, we learned that science starts with simple ques ons like “Why?”
and “How?” about the world around us. We also saw that science never stops
growing—each me we find an answer, it leads to new ques ons and our
understanding changes and improves as we explore more. Now, as we step into the
Inves ga ve World of Science, we bring together this spirit of wonder and the idea
of constant change. This stage is about looking deeper, asking sharper ques ons,
and learning how science truly works through inves ga on and discovery.

                                     EXPLORING SCIENCE

In science, the goal is not just to memorize new facts but to understand
how to discover them on your own. Investigation means going beyond just
noticing things and asking basic questions. It's about asking more specific

and thoughtful questions, planning simple experiments to test your ideas,
and using what you observe to learn more. This way, you don't just collect
facts—you learn how to explore, test, and build a deeper understanding.

This year, we will explore science through investigations that will
take us from the tiniest living things to the biggest global problems.
We will begin with something very small, like a drop of water, and
discover the hidden world of microbes inside it. Some of these tiny

organisms are helpful, like the ones that aid in digestion, or make
medicines, while others can be harmful and cause diseases. Along
the way, we will ask questions like: What does the body need to stay

healthy? How does it fight infections? We will learn how food, exercise,
medicines, and vaccines keep us strong and protected. And this is only the
