starting point—because in today's world, science is a powerful tool that
continues to shape and improve our lives.

We use electric current in many ways to make our
daily lives more comfortable. For example, its
heating effect keeps us warm, and its magnetic

effect helps machines and motors work. But these
uses of electricity are connected to deeper ideas
called forces. After we see how electricity can do

different kinds of work, we will then study these
forces themselves, beginning with the ones that
cause objects to move faster, slower, or change
                                     direction.

                                     FORCES HELP US
Forces help us understand many everyday things, like why a ball thrown
upward comes back down or why a car stops when the brakes are pressed.

From this, we also learn about pressure, which is how a force spreads over a
surface. Force and pressure together also explain how air moves. A small
difference in air pressure creates a gentle breeze, while a bigger difference

can cause strong winds, and sometimes even powerful cyclones.
Forces are linked to powerful weather events like storms and cyclones,
which can impact our daily lives, farming, and even our safety. To

understand why things like air pressure or boiling water behave the way
they do, we need to look more
closely at what materials are made
Science of. Everything around us is made up
                     Bytes
of tiny particles. In solids, these

The air around us also has particles are packed tightly and can

                up and allows us to
breather comfortably on In science, classifying things is very important because it helps us
Earth. understand them better. Materials around us can be grouped into three
types: elements, which are pure substances made of only one kind of
particle; compounds, which are formed when two or more elements bond

together; and mixtures, which are just combinations of different
substances that can still be separated easily. Knowing how particles mix or
