My Clothes

We wear clothes because :

• They protect us from the cold, rain and heat.

• They make us look smart and feel good.

• They cover our body and protect us from dust and germs.

Clothes in Different Seasons

In Summer

It is very hot in summer. We wear cotton clothes in summer. Light-coloured

clothes keep us cool. They absorb the sweat easily. We get cotton from cotton

plants.

In Winter

In winter, we wear woollen clothes to keep our body warm.

We get wool from sheep. The hair of sheep are spun into

wool. Wool is used to knit sweaters, caps, socks and other
warm clothes.

In the Rainy Season

We can get wet if we go out in the rain. We use either
raincoats or umbrellas on rainy days. We can also wear

gumboots.
