WHAT IS HEALTH?
According to the World Health Organization (WHO), health is not just about
being free from illness or disease. Instead, it means having complete
physical, mental, and social well-being. This means a healthy person is
someone who feels good in their body, thinks clearly and positively in their
mind, and is able to live happily with others in society. A healthy person can
do everyday tasks efficiently, handle challenges, and adjust well with
friends, family, and the larger community. In simple words, being healthy is
about living a balanced life where your body, mind, and relationships are all
in good shape.
Ayurveda explains that real health comes from keeping a balance between
the body, the mind, and the environment around us. To maintain this balance,
it encourages following a daily routine (dibcharya) and adjusting habits
according to the seasons (ritucharya). Eating fresh and natural food that suits
one's body type (prakriti) is very important. Along with this, regular exercise,
cleanliness, proper rest, and a peaceful mind help in staying healthy. Practices
like yoga, meditation, and mindfulness further support this balance, making
the body strong, the mind calm, and life more harmonious.
HOW CAN WE STAY HEALTHY?
Staying healthy means taking care of our body and mind in simple everyday

in a clean environment, exercising regularly, and getting enough sleep. It
also means spending quality time with family and friends and keeping a
positive attitude. To stay healthy, we should eat fresh and balanced meals,
keep ourselves and our surroundings clean, follow regular exercise, and
rest properly. We should also avoid junk food, unhealthy habits like
smoking or overeating, staying up too late and negative thinking, as these
can harm our health.
Many good habits are often encouraged by parents, teachers, or elders
