Krita is a photo-editing software. With a photo-editing software, a simple looking picture can be
enhanced to an extent that it looks as if captured by an expert photographer.

The word Krita comes from the Swedish language; where 'Kri' means 'crayons' and 'Rita' means
'to draw'. Krita is an open source software designed for digital drawing, photo editing, and 2D
animation.

Some of the popular features of Krita are as follows:

• It is an open-source software, which means that the Krita software code is available for
public collaboration. You can download Krita for free from its official website, Krita.org.
• The user interface of Krita is easy to understand and use. It consists of menus, buttons,
panels, etc.

• Krita interface consists of different panels that can be docked anywhere on the screen. This
helps you to change the layout of the screen according to your needs and convenience.
• Brushes are the most important tools in drawing. In Krita, there are a total of hundred
different brush colours that will give you an amazing drawing experience. These brushes are
